Allspice
Some people think allspice is a blend -- not true. Allspice is pungent and fragrant with a personality all its own. Some people think of it as a tasty combination of cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg. It comes from Jamaica, Mexico and Honduras. Its warm, sweet flavor makes it useful in a wide variety of both savory and sweet foods. Allspice is used in Jamaican dishes as well as in pickling spice, spiced tea mixes, cakes, cookies and pies. Food producers also use it in ketchup, pickles and sausages.
